Covid Update

During Covid-19, please be assured we are taking additional precautions to ensure the safety of
everyone who engages with our restaurants by following the guidelines from the CDC, state and
local health officials and government leaders.

Some of the enhanced procedures are:

  • Strictly requiring team members who don't feel well to stay home from work.
  • We have requested for team members to inform us of exposure to anyone diagnosed with
    coronavirus.
  • We give all employees complimentary benefits which include access to a doctor's advice
    24/7.
  • Doubling the frequency of our sanitizing procedures.
  • Supplying masks for all team members.
  • Offering sanitized pens for signing credit card receipts.
  • Customers may request to have their credit card sanitized before handing it back to them.

At the Kent restaurant, our best way to serve you is with our drive-thru and walk-up stations.
Seating in the dining room and on the patio is closed. Please understand: If we open for limited
seating in the current environment, it would be a step back in our service efficiency, economics of
operations, and safety.

At the new Lakewood restaurant (open in September!), we will have a walk-up station at the front
door, with a separate pickup station at the side door to enable social distancing.

Along with the reduction in sales, there are also added service costs to operate under these
conditions. Dedicated order takers are stationed at all times. Dedicated curbside runners bring
each order outside to the customer. Since all orders are takeout, packaging costs have doubled.
Delivery services take a 30% cut of every order. Our business model has had to temporarily adapt.
We do still offer complimentary ice cream in a cup. We cannot have our self-service sauce bar, so
a small charge of 25 cents is applied to each extra sauce portion, as we are portioning and packing
the extra sauces for you. This is the only added charge and it helps a little to recover just some of
these added costs. Rest assured that once the pandemic has passed, we will resume the dining
room's complimentary sauce bar, and self-service drink bar.

BBQ Pete's is doing our part to slow the bug while keeping the business alive, our crew employed
and serving our customers great barbecue. Thank you for your support!
